Ahmedabad unveils futuristic Rs. 300 crore Terminal

Much awaited new air terminal unveiled at Sardar Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. India’s Union Civil Aviation minister Praful Patel inaugurated the futuristic airport here in the capital city of Gujarat. It has become India’s eighth busiest airports with an average aircrafts movement a day.

Spread over an area of 40, 000 square meters, the glittering new aerodrome has seven boarding gates, including four aero-bridges, and 32 check-in counters to enable passengers enter the plane from the terminal buildings.

The airport will handle several Indian airlines like Kingfisher Airlines, Kingfisher Red, Jet Airways, Indian, BlueDart and SpiceJet, and also a dozen of international flights daily.

The new terminal will have a capacity to handle over 2200 passengers during peak hours. it will accommodate as many as 30 big aircrafts like Jumbo and airbus-380.

On September 16, 2010, today, the new terminal is fully functional.
