Airfares eye on to go high again

Ahead of any announcement, the Indian civil aviation industry surmises to increase in fares during upcoming festive seasons. A month earlier of Dassera, Durga Puja and Dewali, the costly carol of Christmas has yet started blaring out vexing vacations much in advance.

Airliners are expecting over 90% load factors in festive seasons. While the civil aviation is set to curtail around 6% of flight take-off and landings in the upcoming winter season at the same time. Due to which airliners are forced to ramp airfares up. But, no airline has put this yet into practice.

27% of market share hauler Jet Airways are not increasing fares, reported by a Jet Airways’ spokesperson. Its competitors Kingfisher Airlines, Air India, Indigo and Spicejet have also not announced any hike in airfares yet.
